What I learned losing 100 pounds — and what I wish I'd known sooner.
I lost 100 pounds completely naturally. Lifestyle changes, strength training, an elimination diet I followed for almost three years. It worked. And I learned so much about my body in the process.
But here's what I didn't know until my doctor confirmed it: I had chronic inflammation, leaky gut, and cortisol levels through the roof. And those three things were working against me the entire time.
Chronic stress spikes cortisol. Elevated cortisol breaks down your gut lining. A compromised gut lining triggers systemic inflammation throughout your whole body. And that inflammation signals your body to hold onto fat, disrupt your hormones, and resist weight loss no matter how hard you work.
